Mata's Olympic Poem

This week Matai students created an Olympics poem. We worked together and shared our ideas about the olympics. We then made our own poems. Come into our learning space next week to see the ones that are on our wall.

The Olympics
   By Matai
Once every four years
Laughing and cheering
Yelling and screaming for our country to win
Medals are hard to win
People are playing different sports
It’s hard to qualify for the Olympics
Cheering for our country
Supporting others when they are competing

  1. Morena Matai Learners,
My name is Tania and I live in Whangarei. I am a teacher too who helps teachers and students learn all about digital technologies and blogging. It is great to see that you are sharing your learning on your class blog. What great olympic poems you have written. It was so exciting to watch the different events at the Olympics. My favourite event to watch was the pole vault and it was SO exciting to see Eliza McCartney from New Zealand get a silver medal! What were your favourite events? I think you are right, medals are very hard to win, our New Zealand athletes have been training for such a long time and training very hard! It was great to hear everyone in the crowds cheering for their countries, I was cheering very hard in my lounge at the TV. How about you?

    1. Kia Ora Tania,
We all loved receiving your comment. Our favourite events at the olympics were Pole Vaulting, Long Jump, Rugby Sevens and beach Volleyball.
